R-290 is a high-purity hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerant consisting of propane. It is widely used in commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pumps, and other energy-efficient cooling systems. R-290 provides excellent thermodynamic performance, low environmental impact with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP). It is classified as an A3 highly flammable refrigerant and must be used only in equipment specifically designed for R-290, following applicable safety standards.
